The long and the short of the vehicle air conditioning is this system is a sealed system. This means that if there is a need for your car to have the air conditioning gas refilled or “degassed” there is a leak in the system somewhere.
Traditionally around the warmer months of the year we see a spike in people needing the air-conditioning systems in their vehicles regaled with the belief that this is a depleting gas that routinely needs to be topped up.
This is not the case. The need to regal your air-conditioning system means there is a leak somewhere. Next time you’re getting a regal done, you will need to ask your mechanic to identify the leak and quote to repair it.
Simply refilling or regasing the air conditioning system means you are only rectifying the symptoms and not the primary cause.
