As a member of many online car enthusiast pages, I frequently come across the question “Why is this not a recall?”
Common faults and problems with cars that occur so frequently that almost everyone in the industry knows about them. Examples include the steering gear in Hyundais, the thermostat in Holden commodores and the coolant hose int he Valley of a Jeep.
The fact is that not all common faults are required to be recalled by the manufacturer. In this short Video I explain what is and is not classed as a recall along with a brief chat about class actions when it comes to the common faults with vehicles.
