In this video Dannie shows you the two belts that need replacing on the 3.0 TDV6 Land Rover/ Range Rover engine.
The 3.0 V6 Land Rover / Range Rover engines run two timing belts. The front one keeps the Cam and crank shafts timed correctly, the rear one keeps the diesel injection pump running.
Many mechanics do not know about the rear belt or opt to not change it. Arguing that the worst that will happen is the pump stops running and the car will stop. this is not the case. When the Belt breaks it spreads and blows out through the timing cover. then it chews its way through the main engine wiring harness which runs behind it.
Here is another article we have written which covers the belt and the costing involved. You can view it by clicking here.
