Many of the Ram vehicles run air suspension. This is a system that Mopar has featured on a variety of its vehicles across several brands and is often referred to a as Quadra lift suspension system.
The Problem:
The system operates with air springs, a small air compressor and a plastic valve block. This system can be problematic resulting in hefty repair invoices for a system that in our opinion was never going to last the life of the vehicle.
This forces many owner to look for alternatives. Fortunately there are some options available.
The Solution:
The Ram air suspension or Quadra lift can be removed from the vehicle and conventional coil and shock air suspension can be added to the vehicle.
The go to product for this upgrade is set up produced by APEX which is a 2 inch lift on the stock height. This is advised due to the ride height of the stock set up being to low for many users however if you desire the stock height set up that is available as well.
The kit includes
- Apex RR Rear Shocks
- Apex RR Front coil over struts (this is the shock and strut together)
- Zone Off road front upper control arms
- Apex 2 raised rear coils
Deleting the air suspension only vehicle requires software modifications and removing computers from the vehicle. This is included in the offer GDL provides.
The Cost:
The delete and replacement suspension requires an extensive amount of labor, the software aspects, the parts themselves and a Wheel Alignment.
