Land Rover Discovery Won’t Change Gears

The Land Rover Discovery Sport and the Discovery 4 are both known for a common fault with the failure of the electronic shifter module. This is a relatively simple repair however parts involved can be rather expensive.

The fault presents in one of two ways. Either the shifter button will not raise up out of the centre console when the ignition is turned on or it may rise up[ but the dial will not turn out of the park Position.

When this fault occurs the vehicle will need to have the module shown in the video replaced. If it is required to get the vehicle towed you will need to get the transmission out of park. To do this, you will need to follow the instructions in the video below.
