This week we are showing you the internals of a vehicle that is not as well maintained and you can see the obvious differences in colours on the metal. This shows that the metal of the camshafts is beginning to discolour and showing early signs of possibly giving trouble due to poor oil changes.
Engine oil does three things
- lubricates
- Cools
- Cleans
Everyone knows oil is a lubricant but not everyone knows that oil needs to do the other two things. Over time the oils loose its properties and causes it to be restricted at cooling, cleaning and lubricating. This means a skipped service causes you engine to lack lubrication, cooling and cleaning.
Don’t do it. The savings of a few hundred dollars will cost you thousands.
